Adeleke Olusegun Olaoluwa, known professionally and traditionally as Oluomo, is a highly committed Medical Laboratory Scientist with a strong footprint in diagnostic excellence, aviation health, and public health advocacy. He holds a BMLS from Ambrose Alli University and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Chemistry and Molecular Diagnosis at the University of Lagos.
A registered practitioner with both MLSCN (Nigeria) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), UK, he brings global standards into everyday medical laboratory practice. He currently serves as an Assistant Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), where he supports quality-driven diagnostic services, ISO 15189:2022 compliance, and continuous improvement in medical lab operations.
Oluomo’s professional growth is strengthened by a wide range of certifications covering Graduate & Proficiency Certificates in Management (NIM), ISO 15189:2022, global health security, management, medical laboratory preparedness, infection prevention and control, allied health genomics, andrology, operational aviation health, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and other emerging competencies.
Across his career, he has contributed to laboratory SOP development, workflow optimisation, quality improvement initiatives, and internal staff motivation strategies; including a digital performance-recognition system adopted within his unit.
Beyond medical laboratory practice, he is known for his strong voice in professional advocacy and strategic communication. As a former Publicity Secretary and current Secretary of AMLSN Ikeja Chapter, he plays a key role in strengthening professional visibility, documentation, and media engagement. His commitment to ethical leadership, regulatory integrity, and the advancement of Medical Laboratory Science across Nigeria continues to guide his work within the profession.
Oluomo regularly develops scientific, policy, and conference materials on the future of diagnostics, artificial intelligence, telelaboratory medicine, data management, genomic analysis, and public health systems. His blend of technical expertise, modern communication skills, and principled advocacy has made him a respected contributor to discussions shaping the future of Medical Laboratory Science in Nigeria.
